Today a secondary school schoolmate came to say HI to me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was so shocked that he remembers me and even had the guts to come forward to say Hi! I asked "wow you rmb me????" and He responded with "yeah roughly remember. same sch ma...(sth along that line)". That heartwarming moment. Seldom do I experience small gestures as such. He was from 4/2 AMKSS and he first recognised me at the CIP event so he asked our mutual friend if I was from AMKSS, and thats how it begun! He said he was in Kianlam's clique hahahaha my latter friend (kianlam) should be proud that someone else remembers him so clearly too! So I told him that I am still in contact with Kianlam and we are good friends!!! He clarified which class I was in so i replied 4/5, and then went on to share that I am currently in NUS but... how might others feel? Seriously, how would other people feel? Is it just me? Slightly wishing to conceal this identity of mine, or is it just right to share about myself truthfully? How would this make people feel??????????
:(((((((((((((((((((((((((((
True enough, his friend commented "whoa people graduating from Uni soon you still in NS.... " Is this how people feel, in comparison to uni students, the supposedly 'smart' students??
Do they feel inferior? While I always wanna hide myself so that there was no need for people to feel inferior. Is this normal?
I hope Samuel will come for future CIP events, I'll talk more with him. Oh boy, how much he (or rather, We) has grown since then. He used to don the Ah Beng image. As much as I can remember. Because I stayed clear of these people in Sec Sch. Oh mind you, I have never ever spoken one word with Samuel in school before today cos i was frightened and intimidated! HAHAHA but now, he's tall young man. and yes, He has become much more mature and ... I would say, Steady? But I really do admire Samuel's effort to walk up to me (whom he doesnt even know if I might remember him or not!) to say Hi. Its takes alot. He got me thinking.
Would you have done that?
On a sidenote, a new friend who joined us for CIP today was so surprised that I, a Geographer, was interested in CIP, and teaching, and the Elderly, and the MH airplane issue altogether. While my male friend tihyong explained that the new friend was curious cos it is rare for a girl to be interested in the discussion of the whereabouts of the plane and such... Isnt the MH tragedy a global issue on many different folds? I didnt understand their perception of rarity for a girl to be interested in it. So, I tried to picture a scene in my mind where I talk over the issue with my girl groups, and I figured, yes, they are right. I seldom discuss such issues with them. Even though my girl friends and I might be interested in the proceedings of the case, we know what we feel, but we do not sit down to discuss it. Is this the same for you?
Nonetheless, this new friend whom ive met today is one who's more humble and friendly than some others, I must say.
HELLO THERE, STRANGER.
