Its ironic that my knowledge of Korean culture acquired taught me that Koreans shun gayism and are against it, yet this is often portrayed in songs and dramas. Do you know about fan-fictions? I believe it begun with fans writing stories about their favourite Kpop members or groups being boyfriends with a girl etc... but recently, it evolved into multiple group pairings between members of the same sex. Its a tad disgusting yet it is rampant, all over cyberworld. Poeple often encourage fans to stop writing these stuff as it embarasses the members, yet Kdramas themselves often portray characters exhibiting gayism. So what if these characters appear to be high school kids graappling with their emotions and trying to figure out about themselves? I am alright with such portrayal, however what baffles me is the contradiction in Korean culture - whether they are trying to avoid this, or becoming open-minded - to embrace this group of people by raiisng awareness via portrayals in dramas and music videos? *confused*. The latter is rightfully the way to go, yet portrayal of schoolkids experimenting with gay thoughts might however disemminate the wrong message... sigh.......
